I reforged my kusarigama to inflict poison and was wondering if you can you apply two elemental effects at once?

Title says it all. I reforged my divine kusarigama and it now it inflicts poison damage. I was wondering I applied a fire talisman, would an enemy take both poison and fire damage or would the fire talisman override the poison? Also if you use the poison broth at the same time, does it stack? Would that do anything to strengthen my poison infliction?
