Are trans people anomalous in the strength of their subconscious sex?

Many cis people say they don't have any experience of gender. Some also say they wouldn't be bothered in the long term if they magically changed sex, at least not in terms of physical gender dysphoria. The typical trans response is that the cis person is wrong, they do have a gender (it's just not noticed until something goes wrong) and they would experience gender dysphoria.

But how much of this is a transnormative view of gender? What if a good chunk of these cis people are right? Are trans people different not only in their cross-gender identity but in having a stronger than normal subconscious sex?

Just something I've been thinking about. I don't have the answers. I want to hear what others think.
