High School Senior- What Can I Do?
I am graduating high school this year and plan on majoring in finance in college. I have been set on business for a while now, as it was really the only thing I could see myself doing. However, I was never set on a particular job, and there are a lot of different paths to go in finance. I have also thought about a double major with something like supply chain management or operations.
I want to enter college prepared. Do you guys have any tips on how to make the most and get off to a head start? Until recently, I thought the goal would be to get an internship the summer before senior year and hope that translates into a job, or at least a good resume builder. However, I've been on college career presentations, and many of them have students graduate with multiple internships and starting career building their freshman or sophomore year.
The "golden" job in finance seems to be IB, but I'm not really set on anything. The only thing I did not like was personal wealth management. I think I would like something more corporate.
I will probably be attending BC, so not a top tier school or "target school", but seems to be quite solid for business. What do you guys wish you knew going into college to start off ready? Should I be looking for internships and such freshman/sophomore years? What about networking? I would love any advice. Thank you!
