Why not debate fascists?

Prepared to be downvoted into oblivion, but anyway here goes nothing. Uh yeah, why not debate fascists? Not as our only tactic by any means, but why not? I spent the last few days on r/DebateFascism and yeah - it's a pretty disgusting place. However, why do people debate in the first place? 99% of the time it's not to change the other person's mind, but the people reading or watching the debate. And that's what I'm getting at here. Worst case, debating fascists is a waste of time (but please explain why I could be wrong below). After spending time on DebateFascism though, it is soooooo easy to argue with them. You're not getting anywhere with the fascists themselves, but anyone in their right mind looks at their arguments and they sound ridiculous.

Anarchism has a long, rich history in philosophy and sound, critical thought. A liberal audience (which if we're being real, most people are liberals) hears both perspectives, fascists sound like crackpots, and anarchists sound reasonable. I just think it could bring more people over to the left, but that's why I'm posting here, I'm 100% ready to be told how I'm wrong.
