Roost Smart Battery for Smoke Detectors

Hello!

Does anyone have any experience with the Roost smart battery? It seems to be the gadget I've been looking for.

My house has all hard wired, interconnected smoke detectors and I'd like to put them on my HA system. BUT i don't want to replace all of them. I figured if there was a smart smoke detector out there that could be interconnected with wire (not wireless) that I could just replace one.

Well that type of detector does not existing. Supposedly this Roost battery connects via wifi and alerts you if there is an alarm. It also connects with IFTTT. So I'm thinking I could buy one of these, install it in one smoke detector and through IFTTT have my whole house smoke system on HA.

Is my thinking correct?
