[Help] Keeping my dogs from fighting while on vacation.
Hello, all! First time poster here, but looking for some advice regarding my pups.
I have two beautiful dogs, both boys - a full sized husky (almost 2) and a German-shepherd who was the the runt of the litter (age 3, almost 4).
These boys love each other. They play with each other, sleep on top of one another and love each other's company. They get noticeably depressed when they are separated.
That being said, they also are prone to get into random fights every now and then. These fights are actually pretty intense, and normally freak out whoever is around. No major injuries yet, but some pretty bloody bite wounds have happened quite a few times. I am used to this, however, and can separate them in seconds after the fight starts. I know how to handle it afterwards, so the boys always calm down and act like nothing happened shortly after (assuming I am around, it's much worse when I'm not).
My fiancé and I are leaving for a trip overseas soon, and my mother is watching the dogs. I'm worried they will fight whilst I am gone, so I wanted a definite way to ensure they don't kill one another while I am away.
I was curious as to if muzzling them would help, so my mother wouldn't have the constant worry of my dogs trying to kill one another for some piece of trash or something like that. Are there any specific muzzles or anything like that to help? Or should they just be separated?
TL;DR - my dogs fight sometimes and my mother is watching them while I'm on vacation. Should I muzzle them?
