[Question] Avatar customizations not showing in gyms?

I bought several custom accessories such as the dapper top hat and the 3d glasses, but none of them seem to be showing up when viewing my avatar after putting a pokemon in a gym. Any free customizations done to my avatar appear, but nothing that costs pokecoins. Is this intended or a bug?
