How to Use Grohk's Ultimate: A Brief Guide

CHAT

(This is in response to that thread which asks what the most underwhelming ult is, and the vast majority say Grohk. I made a comment there similar to this post.)

Alright, I know you all like to shit on Grohk's ult ("Surging with- the sky is falling!") And honestly, I don't see why so many people simply can't grasp the purpose and utility of Grohk's ult, and instead keep dying while using it. I have hit over 4300 comp points as Grohk (which is only 100 away from the world top 100 leaderboard for Grohk), so I'm pretty sure I know what I am talking about. Here are some tips on how to properly utilize the ult.

Grohk's ult is NOT designed to kill, or to be used to save yourself. It is a SUPPORTIVE ult. What it is meant to do is provide a heavy advantage to your team in a team fight.

Do:

-Use your ult to aid in teamfights. Not only does it hit the enemy for moderate amounts of damage, it also heavily slows them and HEALS YOUR TEAM! (Edit: Apparently it also provides a hefty speed buff to your teammates.) How you guys can love Grover's ult and not Grohk's is kind of a mystery to me.

-Place your totem down before activating the ult. You guys always whine about how Grohk's ult should provide self heal. This is the solution. Trust me, the sky won't be falling while you surge with power any longer.

Do NOT:

-Use the ult to win a 1-on-1. That's dumb.

-Use the ult in a 1-on-2,3,4,5. That's even dumber.

-Chase enemies with this ult. You should be staying surrounded by your team, not hunting for kills.

-Use this ult solely to get kills. You are a SUPPORT class!

TL;DR: Grohk's ult is a SUPPORTIVE ult designed to quickly turn the tide of team fights by simultaneously damaging and slowing the enemy, and healing your team. It's like Grover's ult, except it sacrifices self-heal and amount of healing for a slowing effect and moderate damage, (edit: and an ally speed buff) which is a-okay. You will only die while using this ult if you use it in inopportune circumstances.

(Edit: Alright I get it. Yes, Grohk's ult isn't the best. I was never trying to argue that it was. I'm just arguing that the massive amounts of shit you give it really aren't warranted.)
