Help finding a story about a man who evaded arrest for years by hiding in the woods?

u/drewadrawing posted about David Burgert & it reminded me of a story I heard about a man who ran off into the wilderness to hide from the law... But he eventually turned himself in. I think I heard his story on a podcast. I just can't remember where!

The fellow who ran was actually interviewed about how he survived. I think that when he turned himself in the police didn't even know who he was. Maybe his case files were lost. I'm not sure.

Does that sound familiar to anyone?
