Thinking of switching to Macbook from Dell XPS 15

I've been a windows user my entire life, and have only used a Mac very sparsely in my life, but have always been interested in getting one, but have been more than happy with Windows, and what it does for me. The main reason I have always wanted to switch was to access all the exclusive Apple softwares that are available, mostly Final Cut Pro.

I currently have Adobe CC through the student discount, and am very familiar with Premiere, and can use it just fine, but do not care for the subscription service and that sort of business practice. I would rather buy a software once and have it forever. Final Cut seems to be the answer to that, along with other creative apps that are available on Macs.

I'm currently using a Dell XPS 15 with i7, 16GB and a 960M GPU. I really do love my computer, but windows and macs seem to function very similarly now a days, and after I get over the barrier of getting use to Mac OS, I think I would enjoy it just the same. My main question and advice, is do you believe that this reasoning would warrant a switch, and if so what model Mac, such as year, would you recommend? I would like to keep the same if not even better specs to last me.

Another thing that appeals to me about Mac is that I can run windows and everything else on it, but you can't do it the other way around. So depending on the specs I purchase, a Mac is really an Apple computer as well as a Microsoft computer if you would like it to me. (I still have a lot of love for Microsoft, so I would probably dual boot)

But yeah, the main reason is for the creative suites and softwares that Apple has, as well as really being a two in one computer with having the best of both worlds with Windows and Mac. If I went through with this I would be tempted to get an iPhone (currently have a Pixel, a little overkill for my use) to create a nice Apple atmosphere.

Looking forward to your advice! Thanks for much, I really appreciate any response! :)
