Damage immune walkers?

I must've missed the quick tip/tutorial explaining these assholes. I've come across these walkers (blue type) that take initial damage but then they block everything after that.

Will someone please explain the mechanic behind this so I can prevent wasted attacks? Also, what is your strategy for them? Thanks in advance!
