Question about 1099-B and what I report as earned income on my tax filings.
My employer gives me stock bonuses that vest quarterly. At each vesting a certain number of shares are automatically sold to pay for taxes. I received a 1099-B and don't remember if I personally sold any stock last year and I don't see a breakdown of what was paid to the IRS directly (I may not have sold any shares). Also a small sum of a few hundred dollars was deposited into my account from these sell offs from excess funds (ie. If $100 is owed but the individual stock is $125, $25 would be deposited into my account). How do I know what was directly to the IRS and what I report as earned income?
