Dream egg theories

First: didn't see a previous post about this, but there very well could be, I didn't look that hard. Apologies if I missed it ;)

With the platinum demo being brought down in march (around the time of episode gladio dropping), a few people have said square will be coming up with some new way for players to unlock the easy mode/carbuncle "summon"... For a while I thought the dream egg might be something along those lines, another way to get carbuncle outside the platinum demo.... However, since the carnival is also a limited time affair, maybe not...

I've also seen posts hoping the dream egg would hatch a permenant (possibky black) chocobo, getting rid of the need to rent one... While this could be, I don't really see it, there are chocobo rental stands set up everywhere, why eliminate their one and only use a few months after launch? Maybe it would unlock more colors?

I'm leaning more towards the dream egg allowing you to either revisit the carnival after its closed (which would be rather lame, and is a bit of a stretch, I know), OR, allowing you to view some kind of special scene?

I had also hoped for a little bit of cross-play between the platinum demo and xv (like being able to use some of the demos spells in main game, or the ability to turn into monsters like in the demo), but the dream egg facilitating something like that sounds even more farfetched, eh? Especially with the demo coming down...

As much as I'd like it to allow us to change or alter some (any) facet of the main story (it is a "dream" egg), I feel that's a little too much to hope for. Honestly, I'm expecting something rather mundane, if anything at all (like the chocobo race trophies).
