Installing Nvidia CUDA toolkit for Ubuntu 16.10
I just bought an Nvidia GPU as part of my work involves GPU acceleration and was hoping to take advantage of the CUDA toolkit, only problem is I haven't been able to successfully run the samples given by Nvidia. I've been able to download and run the install scrip that Nvidia provides for the CUDA 8.0 toolkit, it finishes installing and I'm also able to compile. The issue is that when I run the deviceQuery program, I get the error: "cudaGetDeviceCount returned 35 -> CUDA driver version is insufficient for CUDA runtime version Result = FAIL"
I installed the nvidia-378 and nvidia-378-dev through the package manager and am not really sure where to go from here. I've read that it isn't officialy supported for 16.10 but any help would be much appreciated.
