New to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I just got MGS V the other day, having never played one of the games before. The gameplay is enjoyable, although I find it becomes rather stagnant after a while. I've just completed mission 4. Do the game story and gameplay get more interesting as it progresses? Also what is up with Kojima and Konami putting credits after every god damn mission.
