New Fan! Anything I should know?

I'm from Seattle and for a long while really wanted to get into Hockey. I figured having a team to root for would make it a lot more fun so long story short I decided that the Islanders would be my team. I bought NHL.tv and have tried to catch as many games as I can.

This season has been a blast, trying to learn the game and learning about the team and its history. I already have an unreasonable hatred of the Rangers and their fans. And hopefully (crossing my fingers) will be driving up to the game in Vancouver in a few weeks to see the Islanders play in person for the first time.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and that lurking this subreddit has been fun. Is there anything as a new fan that I should know about the team or its history? Go Isles!!
