Tip for people who are food-obsessed like me!

For as long as I can remember, I've been very food obsessed. If someone is talking to me at a party and there's a bowl of chips next to us, I barely hear what's being said because I'm so focused on those chips. If I have chocolate or ice cream in the house, there's not a moment that passes without me being all-too-aware it's within reach.

I recently started increasing my protein intake and WOW, I'm noticing some major changes! I've been able to pass up several opportunities to overeat this week, including 3 days at work where we had a table full of food for anyone who wanted it.

I noticed this phenomenon back when I tried Atkins and other low-carb diets, and I always attributed it to removing carbs from my diet. However, I now realize that it's the protein that takes away those urges, not the lack of carbs (I'm still eating carbs).

And since I know someone will ask: I've been eating approx 100-150g of protein daily, in the form of turkey, chicken, pork, some beef on occasion, and eggs. I also eat a good amount of fruit and veggies, along with whole grains and legumes.

Hope this helps someone!
