Brother buying old computer, looking to build something pretty.

I have most of the parts picked out. My brother is buying my full atx SLI 970 build, which was a frankenstein build of popular parts on PcPartPicker when i built it. I would like to do things proper this time around by making sure im building a system that will be powerful and not so bulky. I am also going for a little flashy :) Any recommendations on substitute parts is welcome. I am kind of attached to the case, mobo, and 1080, but i am open for recommendations. Thanks!
