Girl tries to change plans, was this a test?

(Context: Freshmen in College)

So I recently grabbed dinner with this girl and managed to set up a movie night in her room after practicing some kino like hand touching, etc. But later she texted me she was busy at that time but offered to reschedule so I just said the same day next week. She said she was busy again that day and tried to change our plans to go off campus and catch a play. As I'm strapped for money I just replied, "Nah, I don't wanna do that." She didn't reply after that.

Questions: What does this mean? Was it a shit test? Did I respond correctly?
