How can I continue to keep up with learning French on my own time? What do you do?

Discussion

I've finished my semester with French class, so that means my next French class wont be for another 7 months when next years school year starts, and possibly a whole year if my class is during me second semester(!) That is waaay too long, and unlike most people, I want to continue with French outside of school so I can retain and improve it.

How do you suggest I can continue to keep up with learning French outside of school and on my own time? I am quite busy with other school work, but whenever I have free time I usually spend it here on reddit, and a good 60% of that is on this subreddit.

My French isn't very good but these are the things that I want to improve:

  • continuing to use le passé composé, l'imparfait, le conditionnel, le futur (proche et simple) -- more so hearing and comprehending because on paper this stuff is simple

  • properly using le plus-que-parfait and passé infinitif (I've spent very little time learning this in class and was only introduced to it this semester and my teacher never followed up on it, so I would like to learn it myself)

  • using 'dont' and 'cela' - I learned it last year, but did nothing with it this year so I forgot about it

  • possibly get into using the subjective, indicative, and new tenses that I should know

I know this is asking a lot, but I really do have a passion for French but I struggle because the way I learn didn't work with the way my teacher taught, and I really didn't learn much. For those of you who taught yourself or continue to teacher yourself in your own time, what do you do?
