Re: AB+ EP 89 Converter math.
Egg asked for numbers.
Total cost to pay for deal with the devil, using converter once:
15 cents, plus converting 2 spirit hearts. This gives you the requisite health to pay for a single DWTD item.
Total cost to pay for that same DWTD item using spirit hearts:
3 cents to buy the spirit heart that was on sale, plus 2 additional spirit hearts.
So using converter is literally 500% the cost of just paying with spirit hearts.
Either way you're losing 2 of the spirit hearts you walked in with, the only difference is how much you pay to reach either 1 red heart or a third spirit heart.
Now, if you carry the converter and execute the same "single red heart to pay for a deal" cheese 3 times, you've essentially got a deal for free, speaking purely on spirit heart costs. (6 converted vs 9 regular spirit hearts.)
This of course assumes you're finding spirit hearts. The "just buy one more" vs cost of converting break even point is 3 regular prices spirit hearts, assuming you're always finding 2 free spirit hearts per floor.
Even if the converter is on sale for 7 cents, buying a single spirit heart is still the more cost efficient method, if you're only using converter on a single floor.
The only scenario in which converter is a valid tactic for a single floor would be a situation in which you have exactly 2.5 or 3 spirit hearts, and no means of finding any additional spirit hearts prior to fighting the boss. You could convert 2 spirit hearts and still have at least half a spirit heart left after taking a deal, in a situation you otherwise would have only had 3 spirit hearts and thus been unable to take the deal at all.
Hopefully this is amicable, amiable, anti-microbial, and amoeba enough.
