Why are people complaining about the guard break so much?

I understand the complaints about the sudden change, but there isn't anything that is inconsistent about it. Spent 5 minutes against a bot to practice the new timing and I was off, I familiarized myself with the new timing and haven't had problems since. Overall question: why are people complaining about the guard break instead of learning how to do it? I am a PC player so I am not aware if the problem is console specific or controller specific etc.
