[23/m] I made a friend in class [23/f] but I think I am acting strange enough to push her away. Where do I take it from here?

I am taking a night class at an art school in a new city where I don't have many friends. I chatted up a classmate I saw standing at the same subway stop after class the first week. Chat turns into study plans, and then a couple study/ dates. The second study date ended at my apartment where she was making obvious signs that she was interested in more. I didn't want to push the envelope on a study date, so I just ignored the signs.

Fast forward to the next week and she starts to notice that I am going out of my way a bit to make sure we leave class at the same time. I walk a block in the wrong directions to chat more before getting on my bike, and she makes a comment about it. I tell myself to just focus on my own schedule, but I always end up "chasing" her. She is clearly getting turned off by this, and I know I should stop, but our conversations still feel good, good enough to make me forget that I essentially forced it to happen. Now she isn't interested at meeting up for study dates anymore.

My question is; where do I go from here?

TL;DR: I wanted to make a friend (specifically one who's a girl) and I might have blew it by suffocating her. Need advice on where to take it now.
