Practice Bot keeps dodging my Spear Sweep

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but this fat fuck is really nimble to be able to hop past my spear. Maybe I'm just bad but that dodge counter is hard to land and the shoulder pin doesn't do much damage for what you're risking if you miss time the DC. I'm not sure if I'm going to buy the Valkyrie or not... Here's a clip
