Tully's slightly drunk post-game analysis shitpost

So after tonight's game I had a few thoughts, and had nowhere to put them, so.... y'all are the lucky winners.

  1. We need to finish. We had how many open chances that we fanned on? Disco needs to spend the next practice just doing literally whatever he needs to to get the guys to figure out how to hit an open net.

  2. The next back-to-back is probably the most important one we have this season. I'd love to split it, but realistically, I'd be surprised if we get two points out of the weekend.

  3. Point 2 being said, we're probably gonna win back-to-backs just because we're going into our bye week and fuck us, right?

  4. We're making the playoffs next year. We're even going to stand a chance at a legitimate cup run. Washington and Pittsburgh are going to be good for the foreseeable future, but the other teams that have been dominating our conference and division have been struggling as their best players are past their prime. I don't see Montreal, NYR, or Boston being serious playoff contenders next year. Even Tampa's future is iffy, depending on how Bishop/Stamkos play.

  5. Under no circumstances should Kane or Lehner even be talked about as trade/expansion bait anymore. Lehner has been straight fire lately, really found his game (and/or the appropriate drunken poem recitations), and Kane has been on his game. His goal against Colorado tonight is classic Kane.

  6. Bylsma needs to stick around for at least another full season. We finished last year with 81 points. We now have 60 through 58 games, which leaves 48 on the table. We'd have to pick up less than 50% of available points left this year to finish behind where we were, and I can feel confident in saying that doesn't seem likely.

  7. I feel bad for Avs fans, because we all know dat feel.

That's about all I've got for now, but... It's weird to actually have some hope other than "first overall" (that we know Bettman is gonna steal from us).
