Not recognizing SSD

I installed a Crucial SSD after her hard drive failed in her mid 2012 13 inch Macbook pro. It worked fine for a couple months but now suddenly the computer won't recognize the SSD at all. I've looked online a lot but all of the info is for new SSDs and none of the info has helped. If anyone has any ideas about this that would be very helpful.
