Gen2 release glitch?

Hey so I opened up my pogo at around 9:30 EST and to my delight gen 2 had dropped. I encountered a sentret or something and I remarked at how small it was. Then my next gen 2 pokemon was also really small. I found a crowbat and even though its model was big, its catch circle was /really/ small. Having all these small pokemon lost me about 50 pokeballs :/ I checked my box to see if the new evolutions had come out and none showed (onix->steelix, Chansey->Blissy etc). The new pokemon all showed 1 candy to evolve and their screens were just generally glitchy.

Anyone else had this problem?
