Do people have value?
Are some people worth more than others? Do they have a value? Not in some arbitrary monetary sense either. Is the person on the left who steals from others worth more than the person on the right who gives freely? And it's obviously not black and white either, with countless points of grey.
I've been trying to work this out, because I worried about personal repercussions from looking at people with some sort of value. I don't want to look at some other person as the lesser or greater compared to those around them. That can't end well...
I think we all start off the same, innocent and unburdened. From there, it's almost entirely experience which builds us. I'm sure biochemistry and genetics plays a role in a person's development, but I'm not sure it's important to the question. People are also capable of changing as they grow, capable of throwing complete 180's in their lives. I'm not sure anything is certain or predictable.
So how do you conceptualise people who are the embodiment of shit versus amazing? I'd appreciate other points of view.
