Did I fall for a scam or is it legitimately Amazon? My account is locked.

Amazon locked my account and emailed me to fax them my information. Apparently my card holder withheld my information and Amazon locked my account. I called them and it turns out that They actually had nothing to do with it. After sending the fax I realized that it might be a scam. If I'm being scammed I need to know ASAP.
