Cringecam's Guide to making Characters!

First off, having an overly complicated and depressing back story is a major no-no. Secondly, you want to give them their own personality, or be similar enough to other characters do they can play off each other, but are still separate characters. Third, making characters that are walking plot dumps aren't a good idea, and having characters in just for being lewd or to throw in some boobs aren't good either. Next, be sure they fit your theme. If you have a serious series and suddenly you have a character who breaks the 4th wall, not good, or if you have a super serious and edgy character in a more laidback series, unless it's for poking fun at or to give your story an actual plot. Use characters that fit your type of story. And lastly, just try and write well. The best ideas for characters can flop horribly if you can't use them properly or write it badly.
