What is the plan for Train Sim World?

What is the plan for Train Sim World? Is it releasing soon? Is it supposed to eventually replace Train Simulator? I'm a little confused. It looks fantastic and I'm holding off on buying Train Simulator DLC because I'd rather play a train sim that runs as well and looks as great as Train Sim World appears to.
