What if Pearl killed Steven? (REPOST)

In Three Gems and a Baby, Pearl was about to pull Steven's gem out, thus brutally poofing him. And, as confirmed by one of the show's writers in Twitter, if Steven poofs, he dies. So, what if Pearl DID kill Steven? Like, what would happen after?
