RWBY and Redemption

With the addition of characters such as Whitley and Ilia alongside long standing characters such as Emerald and Mercury, even Cinder, I got to thinking...

Who do YOU want to see redeem themselves?

Assuming the show isn't going to have some crazy resemption spree, some of these characters are likely reserved for more tragic endings. Some, like Emerald and Ilia seem more likely while others such as Cinder and Whitley could just as easily be rotten to the core.

So, Like I said:

1. Who do you want to see find redemption amongst the baddies and why? (Literally anyone can be an acceptable answer)

2. (Bonus) What do you think will push them over the edge? What act (done by themselves or others) will push them toward the side of good?

Personally, right now I really want to see Whitley get some love and not turn in to a cliche. His life seems pretty shit so I can see where all that angst is coming from. His mother from what we can tell is an alcoholic, his father's abusive and his sisters left him all alone as far as HE is concerned. His love for his father could very well be Stockholm Syndrome at this point. Of course there is evidence contrary to this, such as his percieved hatred toward Winter before Weiss ever left and his somewhat evident desire for power, thought I feel we need more information about him before we grab our torches and pitch forks and string up the poor kid.

That said, I could see his mother maybe being a turning point, or perhaps his sister saving him. Perhaps even saving him from a disaster his dad directly or indirectly caused with little concern for Whitley's well being.

EDIT: Wow I poked a bee's nest I didn't even know existed with this one. Though controversy draws out conversation, so I can't say I'm dissappointed!

Just thought I'd add that I'm not looking for some long drawn out redemption arc for some side character, especially not in the near future (Too much Team RWBY/Oscar that I want to see in V5). Instead, I was just wondering who you think might end up on the good side, if any villians at all, by the end of the series.
