Verizon store employee claiming the phone has reception issues and is being recalled.

So I recommend the pixel to a friend, he went to his local verizon and the employee tried to talk him into an iPhone 7 because the phone had reception issues and is being recalled soon. What a freaking joke! Now he is convinced he should just stick with Samsung. What's the deal here? Employees should be fired for this kind of behavior.

Edit: I guess there seems to be more real world issues than I was aware of. I think maybe the Google hardware team needs to work on their communication skills.

The phone has been pretty great for me other than needing to be reset once ironically due to a wifi issue. However, in terms of cell service no other phone that I have owned can hold a candle to the pixel.

My gripe is that every recent flagship has had something wrong, and clearly there is no news of a recall, so best case scenario is the associate was using hyperbole. Worst case is that he or she genuinely lied to steer someone away from a pixel. In either situation I am a bit disheartened. I want the pixel to succeed, not because I need validation for my own purchase, but because I want there to be a future for the pixel line.
