MS Lindros Review

Other

Team Information:

  • Playing on my 1st line with POTN Richards and MS Modano

  • OJ, HH, CG, TW, SB, T active.

  • 13 points (7g, 6a) in 14 games played in D2/D3 (This may be a small sample size, but I've seen enough to be very impressed).

Price: Usually find him around 100k-110k on PS4

Skating (with TW active): 9/10 With team wheel active, Lindros is actually relatively fast when you consider his size (6'4", 240 lbs). However, that being said, Lindros is by no means the fastest skater you'll use; BUT (especially with TW activated) he can definitely keep up with most skaters and win a lot of puck battles and races.

Skating (W/O TW activated): 8.4/10 I know a lot of people don't have TW activated so I felt it necessary to add this part to the review. When you pick up Lindros for your team, you're not getting him for his speed. His shooting and defensive stats more than make up for what he lacks in this department (without team wheel activated). Team wheel is definitely recommended when you use Lindros, but he can still be a very good player without it.

Hands: 9.5/10 The most surprising thing about Lindros' game is the fact that he's got some wicked hands on him. For a guy as large as he is, he almost never messes up on a deke. I'm constantly getting him into situations where he gets a breakaway, because his moves are just that filthy. His hands coupled with his balance of 97, it's virtually impossible to get the puck away from him once he gets it.

Shooting: 9.5/10 What can I say, Lindros easily has the best slapshot in the game (or at least out of the players that I've used). He has 3 OJ, so he activates that synergy all on his own, which gives boosts his SSA to 90 and SSP to 93. Those stats don't sound very overwhelming, but there's just something about Lindros that makes his shot special, regardless of what the stats say. He can pick the top corner from almost anywhere in the offensive zone. If you're able to take an open slapshot with him, chances are it'll be in the back of the net in less than a second. The precision on his slapshot is inexplicably good. As for his wristshot, as good as it may be, it still pails in comparison to his slapshot. Don't get me wrong, his wristshot is still phenomenal, but if you've got an open shot with him, you can't pass up on the slapper.

Faceoffs: 10/10 Due to his size, if you use the tie up off the draw, you'll never lose another face-off if he's the one taking it.

Checking: 11/10 6'4", 240 lbs, 97 body checking (99 with HH activated), 90 speed. Lindros is the definition of the phrase "built like a tank, with a ferrari engine." If you see Lindros coming at you, you may as well just give up and call 9-1-1; once you see him coming, it's too late because you're getting run over. His ability to hit is what makes him unique, because the way he uses it makes him a force on both offence and defence. He is the true definition of a power forward.

Defence: 9.6/10 Lindros is about as close to perfect as you can get on defence. Like I said before, he's fast enough to not let most skaters get the jump on him; and I would say that there is nobody better on the back check than Lindros. His large frame allows him to block a lot of shots and prevent a lot of scoring opportunities. His stick checking is very good as well, and when you have him playing centre, it allows him to break up a lot of D to D one timers when the pass is coming across through the middle lane (keep in mind I have T active which provides a +3 boost to stick checking). His positioning on both offence and defence is basically flawless.

Is He Worth It? He is 100% worth it. 93 overall for around 100k who excels not only offensively but defensively. Lindros makes something happen every time he's on the ice, whether it's a sick deke, big hit or a snipe. Dude can do just about everything, and if you don't already have him, I highly recommend getting him.
