Auto connecting hits when you dodge

I don't think it needs to be changed cause all you need to do is block the attack and you should be safe most of the time but I play as peacekeeper and someone will go for a unlockable and ill dodge and the attack will still connect to me where other times it doesn't. Does anyone else have the same pet peeve/problem ?
