My Condottieri are slaves to a non-existent nation. Anyone else had this bug?

Sold a 6 stack to the Susque-something-something native american tribe to fight 13 colonies. Of course England eventually sent a 30 stack and smashed the natives and my mercs heroically fled into the wilderness. Peace deal comes and my client gets annexed and my troops remained rented out. Now I can't disband them or cancel the contract. I tried to see if the 6 stack participates in my wars while being in a ghost contract and the answer is no, they don't fight.

Anyone else had this problem? Time to tell Paradox about this?
