Oracle R12 Adjustment Identifier

I'm an R12 end user, so I don't know all of the technical specifics. Is there an identifier that posts to the GL that differentiates between a SL transaction posting to the GL vs a manual adjustment? I'm looking to find an identifier to use to extract data.
