Lap/polish preferences for harder stones

So the facetron is still a month out, right now I'm trying get the basic accessories without going overboard. The training I had on an ultra tec had me polishing quartz on a wizard lap with 14k voodoo paste. Certainly easy enough.

Just wondering if people would share their lap and polish preferences for materials like garnet and sapphire. thanks in advance
