Detroit fan here with a trade question.

Discussion

So with the trade deadline approaching, I have been thinking about possible destinations for Reggie Jackson. It's no secret that he has been struggling this year, but he certainly still has value to a team. My question for you guys is this: What do you think Riley would want back in a potential Jackson for Dragic trade? Personally I think Dragic is likely to be the better asset over the duration of his contract, but there is a distinct possibility that the back end of these contracts will favor Reggie. What would you guys want included in that deal if you were the ones pulling the trigger?

I don't think Riley would want Jackson at all

But think of the lobs he could throw to Whiteside!

Same potential lobs he could be throwing to Drummond right?

The kind that Dragic throws?

Yeah but... I want Dragic so I'm gonna tell you that Reggie and Whiteside lobs will be better! But in all seriousness, my real line of thought would be that the heat might find some upside in the fact that Reggie is younger, I know Riley generally doesn't like to rebuild through the draft. I thought if you guys could both get a little younger, and get a couple other assets in return, Riley might want to do it.

I think if the player return for Dragic was Reggie then I would say that several picks would have to be sent along.

I'd rather have Dragic throwing lobs to Whiteside

I don't blame you, that's why I was wondering what else would have to be included for Pat to pull the trigger.

We'll take Drummond as well if you insist.

Personally, I think it would take at least Reggie, 2017 1st rounder, Stanley Johnson, and Henry Ellenson to get a potential deal done for Dragic involving Jackson right now. Reggie's value is way down around the league right now, and Dragic is that much of an upgrade, especially with Reggie being a ball stopper, and his hero ball tendencies down the stretch of games...

But this wouldn't happen, so its pointless to discuss. I much prefer Dragic. I do know the heat were interested in Reggie during the draft process when he was drafted, but that was also a few years ago

What would you say to reggie bullock instead of stanley, and make the 2017 top 18 protected this year, and not protected at all next year?

Stanley + Reggie+ top 8 protected pick for the dragon and mcrob. I don't want to trade Dragic, but if they did trade him, I would be cool with that one. We would get a young potential stud in Stanley, a pick and we get rid of McBob

Bullock is a RFA this year...

Pat is always a buyer. He won't trade dragic unless he can get a player better than dragic.

we're long guards right now is the thing. It would get more interesting if Leueuerr was involved.
