Tried posting last night and something glitched with imgur. Anyhow.

Here's my newly finished Remington 700 in 6.5 Creedmoor done by LRI off Sniper's Hide and myself (never underestimate the power of determination and torque screwdrivers).

Specs are:

R700 Short Action

26" Bartlein Medium Palma in 6.5 Creedmoor with a throat cut for Hornady projectiles

KRG X-RAY Chassis

Magpul AICS magazine

Harris HBRS

ADM Harris QD

Nightforce Extreme Duty 20 MOA base

Seekins 34 mm 1.0" matched rings

Vortex Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27 EBR2C MRAD

I don't know what I spent in total, it was really expensive. But the first 100 rnds have been a lot of fun hitting out to 1250 yards. Waiting on Redding does to come in from backorder. Hoping to purchase a new Kestrel soon to help feed Applied Ballistics.

Ask me whatever about long range. I'm still a beginner but have been putting it all together over the last year.

What's the downside to the scope other than cost? Surprised to see someone running MRAD over MIL/MIL. I want one for my Savage 10 BA Stealth build but it seems overkill vs a Viper 6-24.

MRAD means it is mil/mil. People cry about its weight.

Clarify that second part..

Is the Vortex Razor too much scope for a lowly Savage 10 BA Stealth or a Ruger PRS 6.5 Creedmoor build?

1
BreakinTacks•

Absolutely not. Great glass. MIL/MIL and Mrad are the same thing, just so you know.

It's tactical sky camo. Developed for paratroopers to snipe targets on the way down. Probably.

Looks awesome!

I know you were joking. But: given it's illegal to shoot paratroopers and/or pilots that have ejected, I would assume it's illegal to shoot while falling, right? I've never thought about that before.

no it's actually fine to shoot at paratroopers, just not aircrew, source

TIL. Thanks!

illegal in war

Lol

I've been to NJPs and Court Martials. None my own and I'd like to keep it that way.

I was speaking more on the philosophy of it, not the reality.

Total cost?

2
VolucrisOP8•

Expensive.

Is it worth its weight in gold?

Micotu•

expensive is relative. You don't want to give something more objective? It's not like we're asking you your salary here.

I did mine in burnt bronze. I love the chassis. Have you had any issues with the magazine?

2
A_curious_fish•

Are these the ones people have had issues with??

But this thing looks sexy af

1
VolucrisOP8•

Mostly it's a few people having an actual issue, and a thousand acting like it's indicative of everything. The Tikka actions and triggers are nicer for a factory gun, but if you're going custom it's hard to save over a R700 action. Considering you end up putting a fancy trigger in it regardless.

I dig your setup 100% I wants

What's the blue coating? Going to guess cerakote, but if it is what color?

1
VolucrisOP8•

Titanium blue cerakote.

That's gorgeous!

Fantastic rifle! The x-ray looks great. I have the same optic on my 700 and it's the bees knees man. Enjoy it.
