What's the worst case of favoritism that you've seen?

My exes family. His grandmother is shameless about it. She has three sons, and one is her favorite. All his kids/grandkids get more expensive gifts for holidays. She only passes down family items to them. And anytime she was with my exes dad (her own son) and his kids, all she talks about are the other grandchildren. It was really annoying from an outside standpoint, I can't even imagine how horrible it was for my ex to grow up in that world thinking that was normal.
Not the worst, but best for what I'm concerned.
When I was 15 or 16, the school sent us to the center of town by bus to watch some weird shit (literally 2 hours or something extremely boring happening in the rear-view mirror of a car, wat) and before the return trip back to school my friend asked one of the teachers if he could be dropped off on the way...
"No, everyone has to stay on the bus all the way." My friend was quite annoyed by this because he lived close to school and the bus stop was next to his house, so he'd have to drive past his house, to the school, then WALK back to his house again (not the biggest problem in the world, but hey). Still no. But then I asked if me and him could just go to my place instead...
"Sure, because you're so cool!"
He didn't know whether to be happy or angry, hah
Im a middle child soooo.....
Idk about the worst, because that's a broad question. As far as recent, I have a Co worker that punched another Co worker in the face, on the clock. This guy has a well known history of being a bully and intimidating new people into quitting, as well. He wasn't fired. He was simply given a talking to and sent back to work an hour later. The reason is uncomfirmed, but we speculate it's because he never turns down overtime, and slaves for the company doing more work than his pay is worth. He hasn't gotten a raise in two years because he's so insufferable as a team mate, but not fired either.
