Optimal in-game settings for a somewhat more "decent" experience
Haven't seen too many posts about optimization. If there is one, I apologize; I'm not too great at that reddit search bar. Also, just realized in-edit I used the term "in-game" settings which is a blatant lie. These are out-of-game things you can do to assist in fps. Sorry for the confusion. I'm running an AMD FX8350 (which I know is not the best at all, probably one of the worst for CEMU) with a GTX 970 and getting very decent frames, in a very decent looking game. Here's what I've done (running CEMU 1.7.3d):
-Started out with installing BotW via Wii U USB Helper. There're plenty of guides on how to install the game with update and DLC.
-Installed the settings file to render the game internally at 4K. ty for the words, mariusg. Even if you have a 1080p monitor, you're more than likely going to be wanting [this] (https://www.reddit.com/r/cemu/comments/5wsw97/the_legend_of_zelda_breath_of_the_wild_4k/)
-After installing the dropbox file, place the folder named BreathOfTheWild_4K into the graphicsPack folder within Cemu. (Make sure before starting the game, go to Options > Graphic packs > Zelda 4k)
-Once that is placed, it'd probably be best to download a premade shader cache. I don't want to give one out, but just search this subreddit. It's a top 10 post while I write this.
-Once your cache has finished downloading, extract and replace the shaderCache in \cemu with the new one. (First time loading into the game may take a while.) Also, if the cache is not loading, you may have to rename e472dce2.bin to 2912eb2f.bin, then throw it into the cache. (Thanks Shad0wBlayze)
-Now after all that technical stuff is out of the way, you'll still be limited to about 10-20fps, depending mostly on your CPU. So, as many of you probably know, CheatEngine is the way to go. Download this.
-After downloading, run it, then click on the "Select a process to open" button that should be blinking on the top left. Select Cemu.exe from the combo box. (Cemu may need to be open. That's the only way that I run it.)
-Once that's selected, go to the right side, click "Enable Speedhack", then push the slider to 1.5 or 2 (I play 2, 1.5 still seems a tad too stuttery for me.) Also, Cemu keeps the fps counter low at the top left, so don't worry too much about that.
-Make sure that CPU Mode is set to recompiler, CPU Timer is set to host based, and the gpu buffer cache accuracy is set to low (all through Cemu Options/CPU)
-Load up the game and see how it runs. You may, unless you want to surf launch through some trials, use somebody else's save point to continue after the trials come to an end. I'd give a more detailed explanation on this, but I believe this post will do the job.
Hopefully this sums up a couple issues. If you're still getting low fps, it may just take patience for the next release. Please tell me if there's something I forgot, because I'm sure there is. Still plenty of bugs in this version, but for now that can't be helped. Let's all just take a moment and thank cemu https://www.patreon.com/cemu/posts for the fast release.
