Best program for on-screen performance stats while gaming?

So I've been using EVGA precision X for years now for my overclocks, and while it has a built in OSD it's lacking quite a few options like CPU usage.

I'm a big fan of the OSD Hardware Unboxed uses and ideally, would want something to mimic these settings but am not sure where to look. I know MSI afterburner might be able to handle it but I don't need another overclocking program loading on top of Precision X.

Is there something else that can achieve this?

RivaTuner to chose where, how large and what color. HWiNFO to customize the information and how you want it displayed.

I use it with msi ab, but im sure it works with precisionX.

here is the guide i used to get it configured many moons ago. I looked over it and its still much the same. Some of the button locations are in a different spot, but the information is essentially the same. Once its set up you will never run without it.

afterburner + rivatuner is the best. Recently updated to work with dx12 too

Tagging along onto this, does anyone know something that looks just like Steams fps counter in terms of subtlety that works on non-steam games?

I believe you can add a non-steam game in the bottom left of the library and use the overlay that way.

True, I didnt think of that. I wonder if that can be done with all games? Or if certain games (i.e origin/uplay titles) don't play nicely with a steam overlay.

It should work with most games, I've had no hassle with it. But if the games are old enough to not support Steam overlay, you probably don't need an FPS counter in them.

You could use fraps or rivatuner with msi afterburner. Both can be customized size wise and I belive colour wise

Can rivatuner with MSIAB be that minimal? And FRAPS is kind of the opposite of what I'd call subtle, lol.

You can have everything or just one thing displayed with riva. The text is also a really thin font unlike the bold one fraps uses. I thought fraps could be edited. Guess I was wrong about that one.

I have a second Screen and Windows 10. I use old Gadgets from Windows 7 because I like them the most they look like this. Pretty much every Information I need 99% of the Time.
