Here's a quick fix to edit your save to complete first Purrah Camera Rune quest

This guide will allow you to edit your save file to give you the first 3 camera quest photos so that you may complete their related quests. I have confirmed that all the quest photos just require their appropriate object names in the correct spot of your save. They act sort of like inventory slots. Find object names on this list and you can hack in any quest photo you need: https://github.com/MrCheeze/botw-tools/blob/master/botw_names.json I've done Monument Shards, Sunshroom, Lynel, all kinds of photos now since the Camera Rune is so glitchy If you turn off your graphics packs the camera rune will work normally and will not be glitchy.

First thing is first, BACK UP YOUR SAVE! MAKE A COPY. Proceed carefully and this will be your reward: http://imgur.com/gRNos0a

Next, for this to work you will need to take a few random photos and then save your game before you edit your save. You must do this to open up their slots or else none of this works. So if you already took random blank photos you are set, otherwise you will need to take the amount of photos you need to complete the quests you want to edit (3 in this guide). Again, it doesn't matter what the photos are of just snap them in game and save. Later you can actually replace these with legit photos if you like.

  1. Download Hex Edit and open up your appropriate game_data.sav (I checked the timestamp to see my most current as they don't always match the numbered folder order). Obviously make sure the game is closed.

  2. Go to line C C140. This area seems to be where photo data storage begins (every 8 lines). Depending on where you are at in the game this area will be "blank" or filled with other stuff. Luckily it will be easy for most of us because this is the first quest photo you need, so it should be blank (more advanced save help below this). Here is what you want it to look like on the left compared to what your save probably initially looks like on the right: http://imgur.com/a/rZMd6. The values that you need to copy are on the left and your save file will look like something on the right.

Only copy the values underlined in purple from the left panel of the screenshot so that your save file contains the following hex data on each of the lines:

C C140 4E 70 63 5F F4 3E EB A6 41 6E 63 69 F4 3E EB A6
C C150 65 6E 74 44 F4 3E EB A6 6F 63 74 6F F4 3E EB A6
C C160 72

To help with copy/paste here is each line:

4E 70 63 5F F4 3E EB A6 41 6E 63 69 F4 3E EB A6
65 6E 74 44 F4 3E EB A6 6F 63 74 6F F4 3E EB A6
72

  1. Now just save the changes you made to your save file, ->close the hex editor<-, and load it in game! You will not auto complete the quests, so you will need to go up to the NPC (Purah for example) and turn in the photo like you would normally. It goes through the animation and although the zoomed in versions of the photos wont render when you show the NPC, it works perfectly: http://imgur.com/ZAkcZTE. Here is a screenshot after turning in the Rabbit photo quest (which is next if you want to edit that into your save as well): http://imgur.com/0zZYtc6. It acts like you are turning in the photo and completes the quest like normal.

That's it!
Proceed below if you want to add more quest photos and check out the info at the very bottom to add the actual photo images so they show up in your gallery instead of being black. Otherwise here is info for advanced saves: If you already had a save with quest photos, you need to insert the hex at whichever specific location necessary to correlate (every 8 lines) with it's gallery slot. Every 8 lines represents a new photo slot as it seems--it could be a variation of this but from what I've seen so far this is the case. So if you skipped 16 lines that would be 2 slots away. They can be in any order and not all slots must contain object/quest data but if you want to have custom photos later you should do them in order to make it nice. I've seen saves with different orders and how they correlate with the "album" folder now.

Here is another image that shows a save with many more quest photo data entered so you get the idea on structuring your edits: http://imgur.com/yKUqiFC (notice: those other photo quest tags are unrelated).

Complete Blue Rabbit Photo sidequest (because it was bugging me).

Make sure you have enough photo slots enabled and add this code for the blue rabbit photo:

41 6E 69 6D F4 3E EB A6 61 6C 5F 52 F4 3E EB A6
75 70 65 65 F4 3E EB A6 52 61 62 62 F4 3E EB A6
69 74 5F 41

So here is what it looks like with both quests complete on my save: http://imgur.com/glSWEvW

Completed Kakariko Fairy Fountain Photo quest
Again just make sure you've taken enough trash photos to enable your slots and then add this code 8 lines after your last like my photo showing all three now: http://imgur.com/lZRJmqd

54 77 6E 4F F4 3E EB A6 62 6A 5F 46 F4 3E EB A6
61 69 72 79 F4 3E EB A6 53 70 72 69 F4 3E EB A6
6E 67 5F 41 F4 3E EB A6 5F 30 31

From here you can keep going or stop. Here is a save that I believe contains all the photo quest object data you will need, but I haven't sorted through it: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5p7e1g-NHIveTA2M05Kd2Y0UFU More gallery photos for all of those quests listed below.

Using Custom Images to show up in your Gallery

You should have an album folder if you took any photos in game (emulatorSave>dcac9927>album). It will be full of black images. Replace them with whatever photos you want (probably should be the same format as the ones I'm sharing).

Here are the photos I am using so far:
1: Purrah http://imgur.com/Ey9oyRE
2: Blue Rabbit http://imgur.com/fSn4BQ5
3: Kakariko Fairy Fountain http://imgur.com/JXbt4yU.

Name them pict_000.jpg->pict_002.jpg to correspond with your save edit order. Here is a photo in game showing them in your gallery: http://imgur.com/gRNos0a

Here are more quest photos if you want to go crazy with more edits (spoilers): https://imgur.com/a/VN7hf
