Vidme really needs to take advantage of creator's current dissatisfaction with YouTube
With the recent uproar over YouTube demonitizing any content not G-rated, a lot of youtubers, many with significant followings, are A) fed up with YouTube and B) considering generating revenue by forming stronger relationships with their audience instead of corporate advertising.
IMO this is a perfect opportunity for Vidme to let creators know that their site is a superior alternative in this regard.
Popular political commentator Sargon of Akkad (182K following on Twitter alone) uploaded his first videos to Vidme today and I'm surprised Vidme hasn't rolled out the welcome wagon.
Vidme today reminds me a lot of the golden age of YouTube, back when creators, not corporate interests were king and I hope the site makes the best of the opportunity this recent situation presents them!

From what I've seen. I feel that the vidme devs have no interest in acting like this. They want youtube and vidme to coincide rather than be competitors. Vidme isn't unknown and I honestly wouldn't want a lot of the narcissism that's on YouTube to spill over. Vidme is a community first and that's why it's so great.
If I hypothetically went outside and asked a random person on the street.. "Hello my fellow sir, do you know what vid.me is?", they wouldn't definitely give me a positive answer.
I hope you're wrong.
If vidme doesn't take advantage of the opportunities it gets as a business then they will fail or at best stagnate.
