hating on mantis players? or any clans players? we haven't formalized the new sub rules yet, but consider this a heads up that comments like this won't be kosher when we do.

I understand how clan themed flamewars get out of hand, but this sub isn't gonna last long after relaunch with r/league style moderating. You're gonna burn yourselves out real quick.

i've been a part of the l5r community a long time, and its a community full of great people. i don't think i will need to swing my authority around much to enforce a simple ban on personal attacks, ad hominems, etc. i don't think its unreasonable nor an effort i consider unworthy. if you disagree this won't be a subreddit you find enjoyable.

The way I see it, always keep your trash talk "in game". If I want to diss on a Phoenix I would call them "cheap parlor magicians," or I might call a Scorpion player a coward. But I'm not hating on the player, I'm behaving like a someone from the Mantis would. It's fun, it lets us blow off steam, and everyone engages in that sort of horse play.
But saying stuff like you did takes it out of the game world and makes it much more personal, which is no fun for anyone.

The existence of the Spider would seem to suggest that they're continuing the storyline and not rebooting. Since the Spider weren't around for most of the game's history, the FFG story won't be taking place during say Clan Wars.
On the other hand, they could still be rebooting but having the timeline changed to see the Spider introduced earlier.
