Fallout 4 suffers the same gameplay fatigue as the last two games on xboxone

Disclosure: im a go everywhere, see everything, do everything...pick everything up...kinds guy.

The third game, but hour 150 or so, was start to run rough. The frame rate would chug along and the game struggled to maintain it's intergrity because there was simply too much it has to load.

NV was even bigger, so by the time I got halfway through old world blues (200 hrs) it was almost unplayable, frequent crashes and impossible load times.

I was hoping that with 4, the decision to let areas respawn would fix this problem, and i'm sure it has to a degree. Right now i'm 12 days into my first playthough and i have downloaded some mods, but none that would really strain the hardware intentionally. Still suffering fatigue. At settlements, whoch i have exceeded the build size significantly, its almost laughably bad. But past that understandable situation where i ignored the developers limits (because they suck, lets be honest) it still is running rough, dropping frame rates frequently, crashing more often and taking foever to load.

I used to replay games as different characters not only because it was fun to be good or bad, sneaky or terminator, but because it is an enjoyable experience with a limited timeframe. You can't really do everything in fallout games on consol it seems, maybe if i never did any mods it would differ and if i kept the settlements pretty basic. And whats really odd to me is that i don't ever rememeber having this problem with oblivion or skyrim...

Anyway, has anyone else experienced this? I would image pc users have no problems if their hardware is strong. I have about another 1/8 of the locations to visit, i have probably seen a total of 1/2 the total game world and i still need to finish nuka world and finally decide on an ending. I hope my game holds up, it will be a race to the finish.

I've never experienced any problems like that, I'm not sure what your specs are but Fallout 4 does require a pretty powerful rig.

Xbox one he says. My settlements are huge and with a GTX 1080 there have been no problems. If you want to disable game limits, expect there to be problems. Xbox one can have mods but it's not like the games are made with tons of tweaks and mods in mind. Fallout 4 was made to nearly max out Xbox one hardware and developer limits, like settlement sizes were put there because the console can't support it. Simple as that.

Brand spanking new xbone. 2 tb slate, fastest xbone on the market.

I'm playing on a POS laptop and it's fine for me. This laptop is so old and shitty its display doesn't even work and I have to plug in a monitor to use it at all. I have to watch my heat and keep my fans clear, and in downtown Boston I have to use VATS to have a prayer of hitting enemies, but the game is perfectly functional.

Most game can be played on a potato when all settings are turned all the way down, doesn't change the fact that overall Fallout 4 requires a powerful rig to be run decently. Try to get the bigger picture next time instead of trying to prove people wrong.

If I had to guess, I would say the crashing and instability is probably due to incompatible mods or a bad load order. Overall, FO4 is pretty stable and can handle mods quite well as long as they play nice with each other.

As for the bad performance and frame rate, it's pretty hard to say without any specifics, such as where you are, what you're doing, and what mods you're running. Your oversized settlements could certainly affect performance if you just happen to be nearby, even if you're not actually in them.

Disable mods if you can't handle a Bethesda game behaving a little wonky. It will still occasionally do weird things (like flying cars or quests bugging out) but I can't remember having any real performance issues on my first and second playthrough (which were unmodded, save for ENB).

However, I can't say I can see growing stability problems (as in, growing over the time spent on that savegame) on heavily modded, long-running setups. Either they're there from the get-go or you just run into the "ambient" instability that modded Beth games always have.

I had the same issue running mods. Game would crash and FPS would plummit. Eventually it got to a point were I couldn't even enter Hangman's alley without the game crashing and my whole save file became corrupt (lvl 85 survival character). I had to uninstall and reinstall fallout 4..... I don't play with mods anymore..

I'm on Xbox, have about 10-20 mods, and use the drop item trick to expand settlement limits....besides a random crash here and there (once per 3-6 hours of play time), and a few frame rate drops (nothing extreme), no real issues. Maybe load order or two mods not playing nice?

Maybe the load order is the problem. I dont have much that really monkeys around, add more ballistic weave, more legendary items, the institute paint, build gorillas anytime....the cheat consol...its all pretty unspectacular.

I do have the ability to have more than one follower.

Maybe me plus piper, cait and curie...all in power armor...is the culprit...but these problems were there before i downloaded that.

Yeah I have that mod and no issues so far with it

I really do think it is just the length. 13 days of playing, puts a wear on the system.
