what would happen if we didnt play a center against utah/gobert?
if we just used aminu and vonleh at the 5 against the jazz do u think we could stay in the game or would gobert be able to score to easily?

In yesterdays game Vonleh was the only one on the squad who could even slow Towns down in the paint at all. Even then, Towns pretty much feasted on our Defense (with some extra sauce added for him by the refs!). We're back to our mid-seasonsucking ass on defense form without Nurk. Vonlehs our only hope in the paint against gobert.
What this means to me is we just have to score more than them. If CJ and Lillard go cold, we lose. If we can get mad buckets we might win.
That's basically what happened last night, lillard and McCollum didn't go off and we lost
We could try Vonleh, but Gobert is huge. I'd still take it over Meyers though
I feel like we need to keep pace with Utah on the boards to have a shot. Gobert is one of the best rebounders in the league. Nurk has been huge in that department for us recently and his RPM with Portland (.355) is only a bit behind Gobert's (.378). For comparison, Noah is at .302 on the season, Chief is at .256 and Meyers has been terrible this season at .197. Noah and Chief have both been much better offensively of late as well and are vastly superior defenders.
I say put Meyers in for the sole purpose of pissing off Gobert- see if we can get a couple fouls on him before Meyers fouls out. Then go to work on him with our guards in the paint to (hopefully) get him in foul trouble and give Noah as many minutes at center as he can handle.
You mean like play only 4 players?
I don't know, it'll be better than playing meyers.
Well, I guess we found out...
I suspect Vonleh would be somewhat effective at keeping Gobert away from the action. He is much stronger than Rudy and almost as long. Aminu probably would not be effective, as Gobert can easily outreach him, and there wouldn't be as much of a strength difference.
I'm more interested to see how Leonard plays against Gobert. Theoretically, with Gobert not having an outside game, and not being especially strong, this could be a matchup that Leonard could do well with (or at least better than most).
would like to see the blazers try and give meyers' minutes to our other guys and just abandon playing a center
Basically you're damned if you do, and you're damned if you don't.
Well, that question was answered. Ugh.
i'm pretty sure meyers "the return of hakeem the dream" l3g3nd will have no problem shutting down this scrub robert gobert
You forgot the /s
the L3G3ND in his last 10 games is averaging 2.8 ppg 1.8 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 11.5 minutes. with numbers like those how in the fuck could i be being /s?
That's 28ppg/18r/9a if you guys just let him play 115 minutes a game.
Ugh our coaches r stupid
Holy Fuck
