Cemu 1.7.4 Crash Fix! [Nvidia] [Zelda]
Hey everyone,
NEW GUIDE HERE
I've been playing around with shader caches and found a fix to stop the crashes! (Rap God, I know).
I have also started crashing after playing for some time. This fix seems to help and makes the crashes less often, but doesn't eliminate the crashes completely.
It has been tested by couple of people including me, Fooni (Cemu Discord admin) and other guys from the chat (much love).
Tested on Cemu 1.7.4c | CemuHook 0.4.0.2 | might work on different versions of Cemu and CemuHook, i5-4690k, 970, 8GB RAM, 22GB Paging File, Win10 and Nvidia's 378.92 drivers. I limit my fps with NvidiaInspector - 30fps v2 option. Vsync off in nvidia and cemu.
I ran the game for 6 hours straight and experienced 0 crashes compared to random crashes every couple of minutes.
Here is my RAM usage with 19.7k shaders and game running with 4K gfx pack, AA Removal and High Res Shadows all enabled. Graphic packs.
According to @Grimreave in this thread, having THIS in his game profile has definitely helped combined with that fix, as the fix only did not work for him.
THIS DOES NOT FIX:
THE RUCCO MAAG SHRINE CRASH - LOCATION SPOILER
0FPS FREEZE - SOLUTION
THE CAMERA LOCKS - SOLUTION
Steps:
Before you start, make sure you have this selected.
Enable Shader Cache in NVIDIA Control Panel like so or here if you use an AMD card. If it is enabled already, don't worry and continue with the steps.
Delete your precompiled folder in Cemu that you can find in Cemu\shaderCache. You should end up with only the transferable folder like so. Delete the .bin and the .toc files that can be found in %appdata%\NVIDIA\GLCache or in the %localappdata%\AMD\GLCache if you use an AMD card. Nvidia example
(Don't touch the transferable folder. Leaving the precompiled folder will result in this fix not working.)
Run cemu, load Zelda and make sure that the precompiled folder doesn't appear again and everything compiles to the GLCache folder mentioned in the last step.
Let your shaders compile. First time will always take longer compared to the next ones ( that's what she said ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ) .
